Vintage Dior Dress Sells For $50,000

Natalie Portman's vintage Christian Dior Oscars gown divided fashion critics, but a couture collector has snapped it up for a massive $50,000
The red polka dot dress dates back to the fashion house's 1954 spring/summer collection, and has reportedly been bought by a London-based fashion fan, despite the weighty price tag.
Portman originally had another dress in mind to wear to the prestigious ceremony, but when she tried on the silk gown in New York couture dealers Rare Vintage, she knew it was the one.
Pairing the eye-catching piece with a black clutch and a chunky silver necklace, the Black Swan actress made headlines on the red carpet.
Shortly afterwards, the boutique put the US size 4 gown under the hammer on website 1stdibs.com, where it was swiftly snapped up.

Louis Vuitton- Marc Jacobs Paris Exhibit

Louis Vuitton- Marc Jacobs is a story of two personalities and their contributions to the world of fashion: Louis Vuitton, founder of the house of Louis Vuitton in 1854, and Marc Jacobs, its artistic director since 1997. The parallel stories of Vuitton and Jacobs permit an in-depth look at the fashion industry during two decisive periods, one beginning with 19th century industrialization and the other peaking in 21st century globalization.

This exhibition devoted to both creators will showcase Louis Vuitton's trunks with the museum's 19th century fashion and accessory collection, and a selection of Marc Jacob's most emblematic designs, retracing the last 15 years of his career at Louis Vuitton.
The exhibit is set to open on March 9 at Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris.

The Kony 2012 Video

As you've been seeing it trending around different social media sources, Kony 2012 campaign is a movement that looks to bring down leader (Joseph Kony) in Uganda that apparently captures young children for his army of youths that fight for Kony’s protection and power against their will. The video has been going viral on the Internet and has already received nearly two million views to date. I don't know if this campaign is real or not. Just thought I would share it with you
